One Week More: Short-term experiences

One Week More is the perfect opportunity to extend your holiday by staying in your destination for an extra week. Through this route, you'll be doing your usual work alongside new colleagues at a local PKF member firms’ offices.

PKF Go: Long-term secondments

For those wanting a longer travel experience, the PKF GO Programme offers temporary secondments, lasting from three months to two years. It is a unique opportunity for team members to get involved in new projects, whilst being immersed in new cultures and working environments.

Can you tell us a bit more about the team you are working with?

“People from all over the world come to study and work in Australia so it’s no surprise that the team was very diverse.

There was always a challenge or social event planned, like weekly step challenges to win prizes and also Spotify challenges, where we picked one song based on a category and the team voted for the best.

In August, we all went to watch an Australian football game at the MCG and we also went on a winery tour!”

What kind of clients were you working with, and which was your favourite?

“I seem to have worked with a lot of clients in the medical industry and/or funded by the Department of Health. My favourites were two start-up companies, both developing and patenting medical devices – one a cochlear ear implant and the other a brain injury measuring tool.”

What did you get up to outside of work?

Melbourne is also known for its food, so we tried to visit at least one restaurant and a few new lunch spots a week.”

Would you recommend going on a PKF secondment?

“Yes 100%, I’m so glad that I did it. I’d just say make the most of your time outside of work, especially making the effort to travel at the weekends and take part in anything and everything - it’s so hectic, but so much fun!”
