PKF Smith Cooper’s ACCA Platinum Status Renewed
We’re proud to share that we have renewed our accreditation with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) as a Platinum Approved Employer, reaffirming our commitment to nurturing the next generation of finance professionals.
What it means to be a Platinum Approved Employer
The ACCA Platinum designation is the highest level of recognition awarded to employers who demonstrate excellence in training and development for ACCA students. PKF Smith Cooper has been awarded Platinum status for Trainee Development, Professional Development, and Practising Certificate Development. It highlights that we offer:
- Structured and supported learning: Our trainees benefit from tailored development plans, regular progress reviews, and full study and practical support.
- Continuing professional development: We are committed to helping trainees enhance their skills and knowledge throughout their careers by providing learning and development opportunities.
- Support in achieving the ACCA Practising Certificate: We offer opportunities for trainees and members to gain the required experience and demonstrate the necessary competencies to meet the requirements for the practising certificate.
Professional training at PKF Smith Cooper
In 2024, we expanded our Learning and Development team with a new hire, as well as introducing new training pathways and internal training to ensure every trainee receives the best possible start to their career. We also welcomed our largest graduate intake to date, a testament to our growing reputation as a top destination for early careers in accountancy.
We’re proud to now have almost 100 team members currently undertaking professional training, including AAT, ATT, ACA, ACCA and CTA.
Amongst our trainees, Dave Erentz, Assistant Audit Manager, joined our Nottingham team in 2021 and last year was awarded the R J Weston Prize for achieving the best performance in Advanced Stage examinations. Commenting on his experience of training with us, Dave said: “PKF Smith Cooper supported me throughout my ACA exams, giving me a solid foundation to grow both technically and professionally. It’s a fast-paced environment, but one where your colleagues genuinely want you to succeed. Managers respected the time allocated to study/college and I didn’t feel pressured to be completing work in the run up to exams.”
