Assistant Accounts Manager
Location: Ashbourne - Hybrid
Contract: Full time (37.5 hours a week)
Are you someone with management experience or seeking the next step up into such a role, from perhaps a Senior Accountant?
As an Assistant Accounts Manager, you will be responsible for a portfolio of non-audit clients. You will also be responsible for managing senior and junior accountants and assisting in their development. The role involves liaising with our management team and clients to prioritise your workload and ensure deadlines and client expectations are met. You will also be expected to build strong internal relationships with colleagues from other service lines to ensure that our clients receive the highest standard of service.
The important work you will be doing:
Your day-to-day duties and key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Reviewing the work of seniors and juniors, including statutory accounts, tax returns, management accounts and VAT returns with clients in a variety of sectors
- Management of workflow
- Prioritising workload effectively to meet set deadlines and budgets
- Meeting with clients to discuss and advise on their business and financial affairs
- Preparation of statutory accounts, management accounts and tax computations
- Working with varying software packages including CCH, Sage, and Xero
- Training of junior accountants and liaising with study providers
- Able to carry out ad hoc assignments
The skills and experience you will bring:
- ACA / ACCA qualified or qualified by experience
- Experience with limited companies and sole traders - both annual accounts and management accounts
- Corporation tax knowledge
- Strong prioritisation and organisational skills in meeting deadlines along with attention to detail
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication across all business levels
- Supporting juniors
- Robust IT skills including Excel, and any ERP systems experience (Sage, Xero etc)
