Why this role you ask? You will have a unique opportunity to join our personal tax team, as part of our dedicated Tax Department who combine years of expertise and training to provide professional, reliable, and realistic tax advice to ensure our clients are in the best position possible now and in the future. We have fantastic exposure to owner managed businesses and high-net worth individuals across the UK, in a variety of sectors.
You will have realistic prospects to advance your career and increase your breadth of knowledge into wider areas of Tax through professional CPD seminars/webinars, as well as investment from the Firm toward CTA qualification should you have not yet qualified.
As you progress, there will also be an achievable pathway to managerial levels, starting by supporting some of our more junior members of staff as part of the personal tax team.
The important work you will be doing:
Day to day, your main responsibilities will be, but not limited to:
- Preparation of personal tax returns for a portfolio of clients and building working relationships with the clients in that portfolio
- Preparation of Forms P11D and ensuring compliance.
- Liaising with clients and HMRC via email, telephone, and face to face.
- Assist clients with tax compliance and planning queries.
- Dealing with issues relating to – cash extraction planning including dividends and salary planning, property rental, pensions reliefs, Benefits in Kind, coding notices,
- Capital Gains Tax, taxation of trusts and estates
- Trust Register submissions and updates
- Assisting managers with research on technical advisory matters.
- Supervising and mentoring more junior members of the team.
The skills and experience you will bring:
As a Senior joining our highly regarded Tax Department, you will ideally be ATT qualified, and either undertaking or looking to start CTA study.
You will be a well organised individual, conscientious in your approach to work with the ability to be pro-active and take your own initiative, and you will fit in to our friendly and supportive team. The result of this will mean you manage and prioritise your portfolio of clients effectively and build strong working relationship with those clients.
Additionally, as a great communicator both verbally and written, alongside your good technical understanding, you will ensure the highest level of service satisfaction to our clients. You will therefore be motivated to meet client expectations and take great personal pride in helping our clients to achieve their goals.
